About the

Humanright™ Mark
History of the
Mark
The Humanright™
mark was created by creators for creators.
The mark was conceived by the Human Intelligence™ team after consulting with human creators around the world. We met with over 200 human creators in nearly every discipline, from nationally ranked musicians to digital creators to fine artists, painters, sculptors and illustrators. We also consulted with leading animators who have worked for major studios and production companies. Actors and writers gave their input: we talked to 5 year olds making mud-pies and 95 year old published authors of renown.
Universally, we found that Human Creators wanted to be able to label their work not in opposition to something (such as “Not-by-AI” or “No AI” labels), but instead wished to celebrate their own unique vision and their capacity to take pleasure and derive joy from the act of genuine human creation. ![]()

Global Reach of the Mark
The proprietary Humanright™
mark is the product of extensive linguistic research. The Human Intelligence™ team discovered that the (H) sound is the first sound in the word that means “people” or “human” in nearly 30 languages — not only Latin-derived languages such as English, but also Native American languages and words from Asia and Africa (More information here).
We also found that the copyright © and registered trademark ® symbols were universally understood. This research led us to create the Humanright™ mark as a representation of our rights as human creators. We then trademarked the symbol in order to provide every Human Creator with a licensed mark that is flexible, portable, easy to understand and can protect your creative rights on a global level. ![]()

Visual Design Tips
In order to build a sustainable visual identity and market presence for Certified Human Creators, it is vital to use the mark consistently and correctly. Inconsistencies in the appearance of the mark weakens its value for all Human Creators. We stand together, we rise together.
The Humanright™
mark should always be clear and visible. Avoid placing it over busy or confusing backgrounds that could mute its message. In order to maximize awareness, the mark should be used in high-contrast environments.
However, the
mark may be used in any color you choose that fits your creative context. We are happy to discuss your usage with you.
Your Rights to the Mark
Thousands of creators are standing up for their rights — thanks for raising your voice in solidarity! By getting certified on this website, you have taken an important step to proclaim, protect and preserve your rights as a Human Creator.
The license granted to you when you are certified allows you to use this registered trademark on digital, print and online representations of yourself as a Human Creator, in combination with a numeric (or QR) identifier that points people toward your certification.
However, you are not given a license to use our proprietary
on any goods or products that are not part of your personal artistic profile. You may not print the
in isolation on clothing, print items, goods or services that are not married to your signature or your artistic imprint.
The rights of marketing the
as a stand-alone entity are reserved to the Human Intelligence™ Institute.

Humanright™ - Font Guidelines
If you are a certified Human Creator who is doing design or layout work, and you need to replicate the exact parameters of the
mark for use in a design layout, the mark and logotype, as well as the tagline and logo lockups, can be reproduced using the approved brand fonts that are components of the Human Intelligence identity. One of the key assets you can use is the
Humanright™ Font, which is a single character TrueType Font, designed by modern font expert Thomas Phinney. ![]()
The mark itself is composed of an exact circle around an uppercase serif letter H created with Courier New, designed by Adrian Frutiger and Howard Kettler. The circle ( O ) must be the same weight as the crossbar of the H. All text in the tagline and logo lockup is composed with Rockwell, supervised by Frank Hinman Pierpont. The Human Creator certification process is brought to you by Human Intelligence®, an organization founded to help human creators maintain moral and intellectual control over their creative activities.
The Human Intelligence™ Institute does not use synthetic content or generative toolsets. All images on this website are verified as real, created by Human Creators, and licensed through Verified Human sources. Licensing information available here.
